About Us

Founded in  January 1994, our company originated as a countertop manufacturer supplying national home builders and major home improvement companies such as Payless Cashways and Home depot.  Shortly thereafter the opportunity to enter the commercial cabinet industry became a reality and Contemporary Commercial Cabinetry jumped in with both feet.  Supplying local contractors with custom casework introduced us to the Dental industry and manufacturing of Laboratory, Sterile, and X-ray cabinetry.  Eventually we discovered the need to produce high quality low cost modules including, but not limited to; 12 O'clock rear delivery cabinets, 3 O'clock center consoles, and Drs' side units.  Currently operating out of an 11,000 square foot facility we offer state of the art design capabilities and production techniques allowing us to provide low cost alternatives to the national suppliers such as Adec, Belmont and Kavo.

Follow along as I guide you through a tour of our facility.

Computer Operated Beam Saw

We start by using a computer operated beam saw to cut all cabinet parts for your cabinets.  We use 3/4" materials for all cabinet surfaces except for cabinet backs (1/4" material), drawer bottoms (1/4" material), and drawer sides (1/2" material).  This saw enables us to cut up to 4 sheets of material at a time allowing us to produce more product at a quicker rate.

CNC Point-to-Point Router

Once all materials are cut on the beam saw, they are brought over to this CNC router.  All milling of the cabinet parts is performed on this piece of equipment.  This tool drills all in-line holes for adjustable shelves, drills the dowel pin holes that will be used to assemble the cabinets, and cuts the dado for inserting the cabinet backs.  Utilizing computer equipment such as this enables us to build cabinets with very tight tolerances.

Edge Bander

After all cabinet parts are cut and milled, the edges need to be finished.  All cabinet sides, tops, and bottoms are edged using .05 mil PVC tape.  All cabinet doors and drawer faces are edged using 3 mil PVC edging.  The edge bander shown above utilizes a heat activated contact cement to bond the edging to the cabinet parts.  This machine also trims the edges and rounds the 3 mil PVC edging.  This provides a long lasting and durable finish to all cabinet edges.

Following edge banding the cabinets are assembled using glue and dowel pin construction.  All cabinets are placed in a case clamp to ensure total adhesion of all cabinet parts into a strong and durable cabinet for your application.  The finishing touches, such as door hinges, drawer slides, and door handles are all added after the cabinet has been assembled.
